USB 3.1 Type C & USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter
Dual USB interface support: The adapter supports both USB 3.1 Type-C and USB 3.0 (Type-A) connections. That means you can connect to newer laptops, ultrabooks or tablets with USB-C, and also to traditional desktops or older laptops via USB 3.0.
SATA connector end: On the other side is a standard SATA interface (typically 7-pin data + 15-pin power for 2.5″ drives, or in some versions additional power for 3.5″ drives) allowing you to plug in a 2.5″ or sometimes even a 3.5″ SATA drive. For example, some USB 3.1 to SATA adapters explicitly convert “internal hard drives and solid-state drives into an external drive” via USB C.
